Colsen Keane is a small family-owned custom leather goods business based in Charlotte North Carolina. Founder/Head leather smith Scott Hofert started the business a few years ago, beginning with a simple toiletry case and an iPad cover. Colsen Keane has expanded since, gaining notoriety as a maker of exquisite leather bags, moleskin journals, tech cases and other accessories. All Colsen Keane cases made to order, giving Scott and his team of leather smiths the flexibility to individualize each one based on the consumer’s needs.
The brand has designed several tablet sleeves exclusively for the iPads and Kindle devices. These Colsen Keane tablet cases ($65-$115) will also fit most 7” and 10” tablets. Other possible solutions include designs made for the 11” MacBook ($95-$125) and a variety of satchels ($395-$895) that can hold any sized tablet. If available, these handmade leather cases can be upgraded with choice of: leather color (+$10), initial monogramming (+$15) or a shoulder strap (+$55).
What the brand creates is the antithesis of cookie-cutter designs. You need to pay a high price to buy Colsen Keane tablet cases, but like all things vintage-style genuine leather, these accessories will stand the test of time and tell the user’s story.
