Alcatel's new One Touch line-up includes a number of tablets, among them, the Tab 7HD which brings respectable specs in a lightweight package.

True to its namesake, the Alcatel One Touch Tab 7HD features a 1280 x 800 HD IPS screen. It’s one of the best screens you can currently get from an international brand at that price point... The chipset is also pretty powerful. You’re getting a 1.6GHz dual core ARM Cortex A9 processor and a quad core ARM Mali TM-400 GPU. The 1Gb of RAM will help to make multitasking smoother.

Turning it on you will appreciate the beauty of its 1280 x 800 IPS display giving you a somewhat decent 216 ppi pixel density. That’s more than the iPad mini and same as the Google Nexus 7. Although the display is not too bright, the screen looks sharp enough from a comfortable viewing distance and you also get some nice viewing angles with it.

The Alcatel One Touch Tab 7 HD has a unibody design just like the other android in the market today. It is lighter and thinner than other android tablets of its size and of its price.
