Among the ever-burgeoning range of inexpensive Android tablets out there, the Velocity Micro Cruz T301 is noted for its Android 2.2 operating system, still something of a rarity in tablets under $200 market price. Unfortunately, cutting of corners in other areas detracts from an otherwise decent tablet. In terms of Cruz T301 specs, the device does not sport camera, GPS or ambient light sensor and – strangely, with the Android 2.2 OS – key Google Mobile apps are not included.

While these omissions may be acceptable to the user given the price, the real evidence of trimming in Velocity Micro Cruz T301 is in the below-average quality, low-resolution screen. Responsive this touchscreen may be, but this tablet is simply not one for the video-first user.

Making up for the video unfriendliness of the T301 is its core Android apps and general speediness in all tasks. This Velocity Micro Cruz has 802.11 b/g WiFi capacity and includes 2 GB of memory. As a bonus, a 4 GB SD card and a charging stand are included when purchasing the Cruz T301.

Particularly due to the price, the Velocity Micro Cruz T301 is highly recommended...for some users. The simple equation - the more you’re working on the tablet or going online, the better it is, but take your AVI files elsewhere.

Tablet2Cases recommends to buy it now for $146.95.
