In order to create an inexpensive alternate to Samsung Galaxy models, the Sylvania Mini Tablet has hit the market with a price tag under $200. Happily, unlike many other bargain tablet PCs, Sylvania’s tablet actually packs some decent technology and the Android 2.1 operating system.

As a low-price device, the Sylvania Mini Tablet is made of plastic. This is no detraction from the construction, though, as this tablet is solid indeed. Plus, the low weight (under 1.1 pounds) is a definite plus. And the list of specs on the Mini Tablet is as impressive as your average mid-range device. There’s 800x480 resolution on the decently reactive touchscreen, 512 MB of RAM and 2 GB of memory, battery life of six hours, 802.11 b/g WiFi, two USB ports and HDMI output port. The lack of video camera is something of a minus here.

And the best part about the Sylvania Mini Tablet is in performance. Watching video or using the internet is seamless. Unless users are very demanding, they cannot fail but be impressed at the speed this tablet delivers for the price. The Sylvania Mini Tablet quite literally runs like a much more expensive device.

If you’re not a Mac fanatic and can live without a video camera on your tablet, it will not be easy to top the combination of price and features in the Sylvania Mini Tablet – all in all, an excellent first choice for a new user.

Tablet2Cases recommends to buy it now for $129.99.
