Panasonic Toughpad A1 Tablets Made to Handle Rough and Tumble

Panasonic unveiled its new Toughpad line of Android-powered tablets with buzzwords like "revolutionary" – and these tablets may just be that. Set for release in Spring 2012, the main selling point of the 7” (B1) and 10” Toughpad A1 tablets is their resistance to extreme conditions; Panasonic’s teaser promotional video is certainly impressive and shows the punishment these tablets can handle.

In terms of specs, the OS is Android 3.2 Honeycomb and a 1.2 GHz processor runs the Toughpads. Battery life is set at 10 hours on full use, and the tablets include Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11 WiFi and satellite GPS; 4G mobile broadband is optional.

Suggested retail prices start at $1299.
