The Korean electronics firm Samsung has been caught in patent battle over touch-screen technology with Apple for the past month. This came to an end today when an Australian Federal court allowed Samsung to begin selling its Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the country on Friday. Apple has the next two days to respond to the court’s decision.
This is not the first legal dispute between the companies. Currently, Samsung and Apple have around 20 legal disputes in nine other countries including the US, South Korea, Japan and the UK. The Australia ruling should help Samsung's position in these other cases.
