Scheduled for a January 24 release is Idolian’s TurboTab Z. At a suggested retail price of $169, the 7” TurboTab Z will certainly be the least expensive PC widely available in North America.

Idolian TurboTab Z specs include the following:

  • 1 GHz Cortex A9 processor

  • “heavily modified” Android 2.3 operating system

  • 7” capacitive touchscreen

  • HDMI, micro SD ports

  • front-facing camera

  • 360 G-Sensor

  • WiFi connectivity

Though the Android 2.3 OS is passé at this point, Idolian representatives claim the company “is working to get TurboTab Z to get upgraded to Android 4.0 in the near future.” Currently, the tablet may be preordered at Idolian; ultimately it will be available on Amazon, eBay, at Sears stores and cellular phone service providers.

As a 7” tablet PC, the Idolian TurboTab Z will fit in 8” tablet cases.
