Released alongside CCase’s Feather Folio, the ProShell proves superior in most areas while providing essentially the same design as the surprisingly low-functionality Feather. The Feather’s carrying handle (an “extra” that is next-to-useless for most hands) has been upgraded tenfold for the ProShell. The ProShell’s handle is adjustable, firmly ensconced within the plastic backer and, thankfully, big enough for anyone to hold.

Regarding that backer: Sadly, the ProShell sports the same thin, short-term-use-only plastic back protector that really makes the only slight disadvantage in this case. This isn’t a problem should the user choose to insert the iPad one time only and leave it, but the ProShell just simply isn’t designed to be switched out often.

Finally, like all good products for the Apple iPad, the ProShell is a Smart Cover compatible case and this hinged accessory fits perfectly with protector and tablet to create one single piece with extra protection for the device.
