Imagine Picasso with his palette of colors painting away. Now imagine you have the same creative control over your tablet case. With the Book Jacket for Apple iPad 2, Caseable gives you that artistic opportunity to visually customize all aspects of your tablet case. Let the Book Jacket be your blank canvas to let the world hear and see your artistic voice.

Why settle for a case that doesn’t fit your personality? Certainly any of the great master painters of the past would have never settled for anything less than designing their own tablet case. Caseable’s 100% visual customization for this book tablet case lets you take creative control over how you present your iPad 2. A simple yet highly innovative way to get around the ever-growing presence of tablets and tablet cases.

So, how can you customize your case? A good place to start is by checking out the designs of other Book Jacket users. They have everything from urban to retro designs, nature inspired to artwork masterpieces, abstract to patterned. All of these designs are completely customizable: select YOUR color choice, add images or patterns, or customize it with your own text. Truly revolutionary in the area of case personalization. Caseable’s website is extremely clear so you know exactly what you’ll get. Don’t forget to add in your own monogram, slogan or nickname.

The inside of the case is a fairly simple set up: four elastic straps across the corners hold the iPad in place. Plus, there is a nice little pocket on the inside cover to put documents, receipts, etc. Not stretchy enough for a charger, but a cable will fit. The elastic straps kind of block use of the volume rocker, but only a little bit. The front cover secures shut with a simple elastic band. This mechanism is good, but for a case priced around $65, I would expect to see some integrated magnets.

The case stands up in an innovative way—Caseable has put rubber strips on the long edges of the front and back cover for traction. When you flip the front cover over into stand position, the rubber sticks to whatever flat surface. The only problem with this is that the rubber doesn’t provide such great sturdiness for you to type on. Plus, on some surfaces it doesn’t even stand up so well (e.g. on carpet, your lap). So, basically it is only a functional stand for watching movies on your counter top or desk.

Pros

  • Visually customizable outside and inside
  • Made from top-notch material
  • Extraordinary attention to case design detail

            Overall: Mediocre

The Caseable Book Jacket is a heavy hitter in the design category, but a lightweight in function and protection. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind case that will turn some heads with its custom design, then this one can certainly be considered a best case scenario.
