Portenzo Alano Apple iPad 2/3/4 Book Case (Fully-Loaded)

Since Portenzo offers an outstanding range of customization options on its Alano model, the “fully loaded” version of this tablet book case is a whole other animal. An already quality book tablet case may be augmented and upgraded with rear-camera port, strong interior magnets, engraved stylus and compartment, and an excellent tablet stand that adds two more landscape-formatted viewing angles.

Tablet2Cases is already well aware that Portenzo makes quality tablet book cases – we even gifted the small company with our 2012 Golden Case Award in the category. It’s no surprise, then, that the Portenzo Alano is yet another great case for the iPad.

The Alano case incorporates genuine cowhide leather and hand-sanded American maple wood. A splash of color customization is available, and the buyer may choose the color of the enclosing elastic strap. But it is the add-ons which can transform a very nice-looking accessory into a seriously functional iPad case.

In the standard version of the Portenzo Alano, the enclosing elastic strap helps to at least partially cover the rear camera. For $10, Portenzo adds the “Magna Grip” feature and eliminates the strap altogether. In exchange, small magnets are embedded in the interior cover for secure sealing for carrying.

Those who will swear by the stylus will enjoy the opportunity to add this instrument and stylus compartment for $20 together (or $10 for either) – and the pen may even be laser-engraved for just $5 further. Finally, the real bonus upgrade comes with the addition of the “IntelliStand” for $20 more. The IntelliStand greatly improves on a subpar feature in the stripped-down Alano in providing a stable stand similar to those in folio tablet cases. With the included IntelliStand, the case includes two magnets underneath the interior frame plus a folded crease on the back cover. Lifting and sliding the frame gives the iPad user two further – and more solid – viewing angles.
