The folks at Cooper Cases are apparently quite proud of this tablet folio case: After all, it’s described as both “Infinite” and “Universal” in its lofty name. And in a few aspects, Cooper’s pride may be justified. Unfortunately, too many generic features (including the look) detract from the overall product.

Overview
The DODOcase Essentials Book Case for iPad 2 is made from all natural materials, using a black Moroccan cloth bound around a solid bamboo core, complete with a four-piece tray design. The fabric cover gives your iPad 2 the tactile feel you've been missing since you switched over to digital media, and as well as being good to hold the case folds back to form a stand . The Essentials iPad 2 book case keeps to the pads curvature, giving access to all buttons and ports, and—upon request and some extra cost—also to the rear-side camera. The case comes in four different exterior color options and can be personalized with monogramming and other free form printed text.

Editor's Rating
| Rating | Description |
|---|---|
| 4.5 | Design: Nice even weighted feel and tactile grip of the cover make the Dodocase a great one to hold. The retro book case style looks great in the café. Whether just for looks, or sneaking a movie in during lectures, you'll look classy. |
| 3.0 | Functionality The DODOcase Classic includes a sleep/wake magnet and provides access to buttons, ports and dock connector. No rear camera port, you'll need to pay extra for that (+$5). Propping the case for viewing is hit-or-miss, depending on the surface. The case works best for typing modes, or simply hand-held. |
| 3.5 | Protection The solid bamboo core fits the Kindle Keyboard perfectly and offers a good trade-off between weight and protection. Lack of padding won't help against crushing impacts. Like many book bound cases, this one does well to shield the tablet against everyday wear and tear. |
| 5.0 | Quality Handmade in San Francisco, the overall construction in excellent. The natural materials mean that it might not last as long as a metal or ballistic plastic cases, but the fit and binding is perfect. |
| 3.0 | Value Sophistication doesn't come cheap, as you might expect from a handmade all-natural case. However, being able to pull out your iPad in the café without getting looked down on by the cute barista? Priceless. |
| 3.8 | Overall: Good Just as its name suggests, the DODOcase Essentials is a best case scenario for those iPad users seeking the bare essentials in a quality custom-made book bound style case. |
