The folks at Cooper Cases are apparently quite proud of this tablet folio case: After all, it’s described as both “Infinite” and “Universal” in its lofty name. And in a few aspects, Cooper’s pride may be justified. Unfortunately, too many generic features (including the look) detract from the overall product.

Gumdrop Cases aim to give you the same daily seaside experience with its new folio tablet cases , the Surf Convertible for Apple iPad 2/3. Folio cases are either a great first step in the “how to cover” your tablet or a perfect addition for the experienced Apple iPad user. The Surf Convertible case offers a bit of everything: multi-function stand, some protection and can be easily carried with you.
Like other folio cases, the protection is only decent but that might be all you need. The Surf Convertible will keep your tablet safe from everyday wear and tear, scratching and dings. It is not, though, waterproof nor very impact resistant. Dropping the cased tablet might harm it too. If you are looking for extreme protection, then Gumdrop Cases Drop Tech Series case might be what you’re looking for.
If you would like a case that is animal friendly (i.e. not leather) then the case’s faux-suede is a great looking alternative. The material feels smooth and soft but with a nice texture that gives a bit of grip. Also, it feels like it will withstand long-term use.
Not being made from leather should bring the price down of this case, which Gumdrop Cases unfortunately haven’t done. At $44.95, this is over priced especially compared to other generic folio cases that do exactly the same job.
Surf’s up with Gumdrop Case folio case for the Apple iPad 2 & New iPad 3! The Surf Convertible case gives you a reliable, versatile and easy-to-use case-plus-stand combo at an OK price. It’s great vibrant blue will have you wishing for your next vacation!
