The Cooper Gradus sky-blue faux-leather folio tablet case features a 360 degree rotating tablet stand - display your device in portrait format and retrieve a book from its cloud storage - or, easily transfer the gadget to landscape format and watch a blue-ray quality movie. Really, when you think about it, could there be a better design and aesthetic backdrop to compliment the Kindle Fire?

Pros

  • Open access to USB port and audio-jack
  • 360-degree tablet display rotation
  • Elastic cover strap for secure closure/carry

Cons

  • Bubbles and wrinkles in the interior
  • Portrait-format collapses from steep angle groove
  • Strong smell

Overview

Faux-leather, plastic shell device holder, and an elastic cover strap, this design is about as vanilla as it gets, especially for compact devices like the Kindles. But the Cooper Gradus doesn’t view the world of folio case style function purely in black and white. The Kindle Fire snaps into a plastic shell that covers its elongated sides and leaves top/bottom edges open for use of the audio-jack, USB port, and speakers.

Again, no surprises here regarding the precise form-fit. Instead, this design impresses the user with its tablet stand feature. With one hand pressing down on the cover, the other can easily spin the device between landscape and portrait formats, then place it in one of two grooves for an appropriate browsing/viewing angle.

Features

  • Specially designed for Kindle Fire

4.0Functionality:
While positioned in portrait format, the device tends to slip out of the steep angle groove and collapse backward. Though not a design to consider for typing modes, overall it offers several different viewing displays and maintains access to the Kindle Fire audio-jack and USB port, as well as clear speaker sound.
4.5Protection:
Your Kindle Fire is black, and this case is blue, but through everyday use this design can prevent your gadget’s surface from turning black & blue.
3.0Quality:
The interior lining has some noticeable bubbles and wrinkles, and though nothing special in its entirety, the Cooper Gradus is durable enough to stick around for your gadget’s lifespan, or at least until you’re ready to move onto a tablet computer with more serious clout.
3.5Value:
The design and construction is as basic as many others, yet for only $24.95, the Cooper Gradus gives you plenty of reason to ignore other potential suitors like basic back protectors or sleeves.
3.8Overall: Okay

The Cooper Gradus folio is average quality, but at this affordable price, there might not be a better solution with the function (and color) to compliment the Kindle Fire so well.

"Full coverage for less money"

on 2013 Mar, 17 by Markus Bale
The Gradus has everything to make my Kindle Fire last a little longer. Sturdy exterior, elastic strap to keep it close, full-circle rotating stand, and a very affordable price. I’m extremely satisfy and will surely buy it again if I had to.
