The KudoMate shoulder bag is one hearty shoulder bag indeed. Made of tough ballistic nylon and a weatherproof wax coating, the solar-power functionality is made possible by way of a simple-yet-tough plastic window on the front of the bag to be used with the Solar KudoCase. Naturally, the plastic window would be the greatest area of concern in terms of the KudoMate’s construction but luckily the stitching around this window is remarkably strong.

The interior of this messenger bag features a few pockets, including the handy hanging basket-weave sack at the back. The iPad is given a bit of extra protection by way of a padded space and Velcro enclosure to keep the tablet steady while on the move.

The sole drawback in the KudoMate travel bag in general is one not of function but of style. While the discerning tablet owner will know better, the first impression of this tablet bag is that it looks cheap. Prospective buyers should also note that the zipper fasteners on the KudoMate are not the highest quality. Perhaps this is easily repairable, but at a suggested retail of $100, this really shouldn’t happen.

4.5	Functionality: For charging the solar-powered tablet case (and any smaller such eco-energy devices) on the go, simply nothing comparable is widely available on the market. This one is a true triumph of functionality over fashion: Put this one to work.
4.5	Protection: Starting with the weatherproof waxed exterior and continuing through the nicely padded interior, the KudoMate shoulder bag brings confidence and security to the tablet owner that few messenger bags can offer.
3.0	Quality: Nicely put together in general, the KudoMate Solar Messenger Bag is only problematic in its zippers – on the model we received, these were already falling apart upon receiving. Even in perfect condition, these zippers would stand out as an Achilles’ heel on one otherwise tough shoulder bag.
2.0	Value: On one hand, the standard $100 price tag makes the KudoMate well pricier the average shoulder bag, but how many such tablet bags can provide the solar-powered function? If the tablet owner is willing to overlook the generic appearance of the KudoMate, the specific functionality makes it priceless.
3.5	Overall: Okay Kudo may have created an entire sub-subgenre of tablet cases in the KudoMate shoulder bag - it’s certainly one that competitors will imitate. Together with the KudoCase solar-powered case, the two pieces result in the best case scenario for those concerned about environmental issues – or who just want a cheap alternative to a big battery pack.

"Unlimited power"

Love it! I simply love it! Now, all my Apple devices can be charged wherever I am. On top of the solar power juice I got a comfy shoulder bag with multiple pockets and enough space to hold everything I need when I leave home. Highly recommended!
