The Marware CEO Hybrid case for New iPad 3: Is it a folio case? Is it a tablet book case? These questions were bantered about for hours in the Tablet2Cases editorial office before this review was written. Ultimately we all agreed that it’s a folio , however it doesn’t really matter because the Marware CEO Hybrid combines the best of both folio and book case while even adding one fantastic hand strap that few competitors have.

Overview

So the Marware CEO Hybrid defies easy categorization – it’s not so difficult to describe this handy case for the iPad 2 & New iPad 3. Beginning with the exterior, the faux-leather cover looks fantastic and feels even better. The material performs decently against the trials of everyday use.

The CEO Hybrid may be stored like a book case while opening like a folio. The iPad is held firmly in place by six clamps at points around the bezel. Detaching the iPad from two of these allows viewing in portrait mode at two angles by way of the embedded stand . The stand itself is solid enough, but doesn’t hold up well against shaking – not one for the train.

The single most notable feature of the CEO Hybrid iPad case, however, is definitely the super-handy hand strap. Made of thin, but tough, leather with strong stitching, this hand strap allows the user to hold on to the tablet while displaying the screen for use in presentations, demonstrations to groups and the like. This feature alone could make this tablet case a must-have among teachers, lecturers and businesspeople.

So who cares what format the Marware CEO Hybrid case is? Truth be told, this is a good one no matter how you look at it.

4.5	Functionality: The funny speaker cutout is a minus here and the two-angle stand seems like an afterthought. A big plus, meanwhile, is the excellent and tough handstrap allowing for easy display.
4.5	Protection: The CEO Hybrid won’t protect against extreme falls, but certainly does well against everyday incidents. The felt-lined interior provides some extra protection to the screen. The exterior may wear in the long term due to scratches and dings but under normal conditions will certainly last for some time.
4.0	Quality: Quality, durable-feeling faux-leather makes up the CEO Hybrid’s exterior and provides nice grippability. The all-important handstrap is held firm to the tablet case’s interior by tough stitch work. This case will surely stay together for quite a while.
4.0	Value: Priced at $50 or less, the Marware CEO Hybrid makes for a great value high-quality tablet case. Few cases with such high-grade material and good-if-not-unbelievable functionality are out there, making the CEO Hybrid quite notable here.
4.3	Overall: Great Particularly for the medium term in less extreme environments, the Marware CEO Hybrid makes an excellent solution. The user may forget about the distinction between book cases and folios and enjoy some of both with this nice tablet case.
