Olé, Olé, Olé! Yes, my favorite football club just won another game, but I am also shouting these praises for the luxurious Piel Frama leather case that I have in my hands. This Spanish brand has impressed me once again, this time with a sophisticated handmade case for the HTC Flyer. In addition to securely holding both your tablet and Stylus, the design has a soft, comfortable feel that you certainly won’t want to let go of.

Overview

The artisans at Piel Frama must have some very nimble fingers, because within 3 days after ordering they can deliver an expertly handcrafted, high-quality genuine leather case for your device, like this design for the HTC Flyer.

This folio tablet case is made of genuine Spanish cowhide, which has an amazing soft-touch exterior and a nice interior lining with tiny Piel Frama font embossed pattern. For added protection, the inner structure contains layers of gummy material, thermoplastic polymer and strong fabric. Although its incredibly lightweight and comfortable to hold, the design could still take some getting used to for those who are right hand dominant like I am.

The cover opens from left to right, so for me retrieving the Stylus and rotating the tablet into the familiar landscape format was a completely reverse action, but nothing that a little practice couldn’t solve. The cover also lacks a securing mechanism, yet just the same, my hand kept it shut while carrying (It’s only the accidental drops that I am worried about).

This handmade case is perfectly formed, compensating for the device’s curvature and maintaining clear access to all controls and features, including rear-facing camera. By folding the cover all the way back, you can even stand the tablet for browsing and viewing purposes.

4.0	Functionality: At times times the case collapsed when I touched the tablet screen, but during viewing modes it did stand stable on my desktop. Buttons, port, audio-jack and both cameras remain completely accessible and usable while the device is encased, and the exterior features a Stylus holder.
5.0	Protection: If the case collapses during browsing/viewing modes, the material composition will help cushion the blow. The inner structure also has what it takes for your tablet to sustain a few minor accidental drops, but my only concern is that the lack of a cover securing mechanism could negate this. Your device will be protected against everyday wear and tear, and the package includes a suede cloth for wiping dust/fingerprints off the screen.
5.0	Quality: The soft, supple genuine leather feels amazing to hold! (I wish that my leather shoes did the same for my feet) This handmade case is beautifully stitched and sealed to show-off Piel Frama’s expert craftsmanship and attention toward detail.
3.0	Value: In a bull market you probably wouldn’t think twice about splurging, so as far as luxury cases go, I think Piel Frama designs are worth every last penny.
