The folks at Cooper Cases are apparently quite proud of this tablet folio case: After all, it’s described as both “Infinite” and “Universal” in its lofty name. And in a few aspects, Cooper’s pride may be justified. Unfortunately, too many generic features (including the look) detract from the overall product.
Cooper Apex Sony Tablet S Magnetic Folio Case in Black
This low cost solution from Cooper does everything asked of a folio case. The slim design keeps the Sony Tablet S fully functional and provides stable multi-angle tablet stand support for typing and viewing modes in landscape format.
Pros
- Access to all tablet controls/features
- Multiple angle tablet stand
- Magnetic cover strap closure
Cons
- Pesky strap when using rear camera
- Generic quality
Overview
The Cooper Apex Sony Tablet S Magnetic folio case is made from PU leather and its available in brown, black or red. Its etched surface reminds me of another case for the Sony Tablet S - the PROPS folio. But this, and similar low costs, are as far as the comparisons go. The tablet stand on this design is more efficient and functions better than the PROPS case way of doing things. Here, the back panel is creased for sliding the bezel onto the inner cover. It features three grooves to position the screen at a 55°, 65° or 75° viewing angle in landscape format.

The frame has all openings to keep the tablet fully functional. When opened, the dangling cover strap becomes a pesky little thing when trying to use the rear-facing camera. Otherwise, its magnetic function ensures secure case closure for safe tablet travel against bumps, dings and scratches.

| 4.0 | Functionality: Dangling cover strap is bothersome during rear camera use, yet assists in making typing modes a little less bouncy. Openings for all buttons, ports and cameras are precise. The multiple-angle tablet stand is very stable on level surfaces, and even rested quite still in my lap. |
| 4.5 | Protection: A soft lining would be nicer, but this case offers a nice balance of lightweight feel and steady protection against standard everyday wear and tear. |
| 3.0 | Quality: Other polyurethane build, I have absolutely no quarrels with this case. The construction looks clean and neat, and it feels durable. Really, someone needs to step up and take credit for this. |
| 3.5 | Value: You can argue the generic looks and material, but you can’t disagree with the function, and especially the fantastic low price. |
| 3.8 | Overall: Okay The Cooper Apex Sony Tablet S magnetic folio is your best case scenario for value, offering generous function and protection for an amazing low price. |
