Seemingly, Cooper has created the Elementary case to meet the practical demands of Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 owners. This rudimentary folio case design provides everyday function and protection all in one sturdily-built, low-cost package.

Overview
In terms of material, the SwitchEasy Cara starts with a firm, textured polycarbonate shell. Apple iPad users enamored with white will certainly be immediately attracted to this folio case and indeed the quality protection offered here is a major selling point.
The folks at SwitchEasy have also done an admirable job in offering lots of security for iPads by including a tight latch mechanism for enclosing the tablet and a nice touch comes with the port protectors that may be inserted for carrying. For some users, the back cover made of a synthetic polymer may also be unsatisfying. This surface is a bit too porous and this white version will suffer from smudges and make wear more apparent – definitely a factor to remember for the pickier user.
In the final analysis, though, the advantages far outweigh the negatives in the SwitchEasy Cara. This one would definitely work in the long term as a good combination of style and function.

| 3.5 | Functionality: No true extra features or storage space exist in the Cara folio case. While SwitchEasy claims this one includes a “stand feature,” it really doesn’t in the true sense. On the other hand, the cover is solid enough so that the Cara may be stood in landscape mode at several angles without the benefit of a buttressing strap or the like. |
| 4.5 | Protection: Beginning with the durable front cover of polycarbonate, the Cara case offers noteworthy protection for a folio. The iPad is positioned firmly with a snug, solid fit and SwitchEasy even provides port protectors which may be inserted while carrying to keep those output areas well safe. |
| 4.5 | Quality: The high-quality polycarbonate front cover of the Cara is fantastic and even the TPU-like backer will ensure that this case stays together for a while. On the minus side, the interior seems like an afterthought. The thin synthetic-material frame holding the iPad appears a bit thin and probably won’t stand up to much abuse. |
| 3.0 | Value: Considering the protective qualities of the SwitchEasy Cara, the recommended retail value of $50 or so is quite reasonable. On the other hand, other folio cases do offer more functionality at lower than this average cost. |
| 3.9 | Overall: Good The iPad user who doesn’t mind a no-frills tablet case will find the SwitchEasy Cara to be a good buy thanks to its extreme protective qualities and interesting exterior design. This one’s nice product for long-term use with clear concern for the iPad user and nice extras included. |
