The folks at Cooper Cases are apparently quite proud of this tablet folio case: After all, it’s described as both “Infinite” and “Universal” in its lofty name. And in a few aspects, Cooper’s pride may be justified. Unfortunately, too many generic features (including the look) detract from the overall product.
Tuff-Luv Tri-Axis iPad 2 / 3 / 4 Microfiber Folio Case
Odd brand name aside – Did they really name a line after a method for dealing with unruly children? – Tuff-Luv’s tablet case for the Apple iPad 2 and New iPad is well notable for its clever combination of style and functionality in one compact, slick-looking microfiber package.
Pros
- Interesting functional design
- Nice sturdy stand
- Multiple angles in portrait and landscape
Cons
- Not too much protection
- Exterior stitching a bit thin
Overview
Sure, Tuff-Luv’s folio tablet case has a distinctive and elegant-looking exterior – always a plus – but the really nice thing about this case is the way its style elements also serve a functional purpose for the iPad user.
The best example is perhaps the most prominently featured. On the front cover of the tablet case are what appear to be five stitched squares running consecutively to the right edge. At first glance, these appear to be merely design elements but in actuality each conceals a small Velcro pad. In tandem with the stand buttoned down to the back, these seemingly innocent squares become pads offering five viewing angles in landscape mode alone.

| 4.5 | Functionality: This truly multi-purpose table case boasts multiple viewing angles in either portrait or landscape mode together with a sturdy stand for support. Perhaps the only drawback is a lack of further features, but everything the Tuff-Luv Tri-Axis case was designed to do works quite well. |
| 4.0 | Protection: The microfiber exterior and velvet-lined interior offers decent general protection against everyday wear and tear. A bit troublesome is the thinness of the covers and it’s doubtful whether this Tuff-Luv case could stand up to serious drops. Clearly not designed for extremes. |
| 4.0 | Quality: The soft leather exterior of the Tuff-Luv iPad tablet case makes for a great feel. All Velcro and button fasteners appear very sturdy, as does the stitching used throughout the case. The stitching around the exterior seems a little thin, but should nevertheless do the job in the medium-term at least. |
| 3.0 | Value: With a suggested retail price of about $60, the Tuff-Luv Tri-Axis appears a bit daunting. However, the high functionality of this iPad case delivers the appropriate back for the buck. As they say, “You get what you pay for” with this one. |
| 3.9 | Overall: Good Functionality plus style gets high marks in all walks of life, and thus the highly useful Tuff-Luv Tri-Axis iPad 2/iPad 3 case is worthy of this grade. Nearly second to none in combining the features, any iPad user – particularly thus into video – will surely enjoy this tablet case. |
