Tablet sleeves, take ‘em or leave ‘em. The SlySkin by Urban Tool for the iPad/10-11” tablets is a durable neoprene sleeve with a range of aesthetics, from neutral to bright, and a few color combinations. Though there are no special features here to exceed the expectations of how a tablet sleeves should normally function, this sharp-looking design can put the user in a quandary - simply leave it inside a bag or take it out for showing-off on the urban streets?

Overview

Measuring 10.6” x 8.5”, the SlySkin is a safe fit for an iPad, iPad 2, New iPad 3, 10” or 11” tablet. The design consists of a synthetic neoprene body (80% polyamide and 20% lycra materials) with a fuzzy, velvet-like interior and elasticized cover flap, all combing to serve as a safe shield for the device, protecting it against bumps, dirt, dust, scratches and splashes of water.

So what makes this sleeve sly? Who knows, because what you see here, is what you get. But if we’re really going to start picking apart names here, then perhaps the Urban Tool brand moniker deserves the most attention, because surely those familiar with urban dictionary lingo may find it hard to take this one seriously.

With this in thought, we can be grateful that the brand didn’t plaster its name all over this design, instead they offer some very nice aesthetic options, from subtle neutral designs to vibrant color combinations. Choices include black, pinstripe, berry, organic canvas taupe, “Safari” (bright yellow with white flap), “Vertical” (canvas taupe with bright orange stripe and cream colored flap), and the “Lido” (navy blue with yellow stripe and cream colored flap).

3.0	Functionality: I am not sure about the name, because the SlySkin is not clever or tricky - what you see here is what you get. Of course the tablet is not accessible while enclosed, but it is possible to plug in earphones and run the cable out from underneath the cover flap.
4.0	Protection: The SlySkin is a solid shield for urban commutes, keeping the tablet well protected against dirt, dust, scratches, pushy commuters, traffic smog, light rain and snow showers.
4.5	Quality: The neoprene material is waterproof, but not machine washable. Inside and out, the construction here is tight with absolutely no loose threads to be seen. Once again, Urban Tool proves they have all the right tools for creating a durable case solution.
4.0	Value: Sure, there are plenty of neoprene sleeves available for half this cost, but you can easily shred through two of those lower quality designs before the SlySkin does, if at all.
3.9	Overall: Good With regard to overall function and purpose, the SlySkin is not the sharpest tool in the shed, but it is one of the sharpest-looking sleeves on the block. And durable build here will also be good for a lot more than just a few trips around the city blocks.

"Soft material with perfect fit"

I’m very happy with this case. It fits my iPad 2 with the Smart Cover attached to it. The soft neoprene used on this case protects my baby from scratching and keeps its safe from small impacts I subject the tablet to on a daily basis.
