This Seattle-based company is indeed named after the Amazon River, but as the world’s largest online retailer they are anything but exotic. Beginning in 1994 as an online bookstore, Amazon quickly diversified into selling a full range of merchandise for the average consumer. In this particular industry you know them as producers and marketers of Kindle e-readers, as well as the recently launched Kindle Fire.

They currently offer only a few Amazon cases, a zippered tablet sleeve priced at $29 and available in five different colors (reminds us of Apple’s approach). There are also a few folio tablet cases, with some even carrying a reading light. Similar to the iPad, many companies recognize the Kindle Fire as the next popular gadget and are developing accessories to compliment it. Such companies that have already stepped up to the task include: Abas, Belkin, BUILT NY, CaseLogic, Kate Spade, Marware, The Beta Version, Timbuk2, and DecalGirl.

The Kindle Fire is Amazon’s response to the tablet computer craze, and at half the cost of most other brands, it is a testament to what makes this company so popular. As a hot new device that is just beginning to make waves in the industry, we expect more kindling to be added to the fire in order to give you more choices when looking to buy Amazon tablet cases.
