Unable to find an iPad case they liked or trusted (perhaps they didn‘t know we existed :) ), this brand was launched in 2011 to create their own best case scenario. All Purpose Gear cases aspire to produce solutions to go anywhere and handle the beating, but most importantly, to ensure the iPad gets to shine in all its glory during user interaction.

The brand is based in Portland Oregon, and they pull from the pool of local talent to build all handmade tablet cases on site using only quality American-made materials. The debut AP Gear case is the Companion iPad sleeve ($49). It incorporates waterproof sailcloth material, polyurethane foam and a magnetic flap for keeping any iPad, iPad 2 or iPad 3 safe, even in some of the nastiest weather conditions. The first person we think of to buy AP Gear tablet cases is the bike messenger, but really, this case is for anyone and its minimalist aesthetic makes for use in any situation.

Given that the AP stands for “all-purpose”, it might seem rather odd that the brand is introducing a single-purpose design right out of the gate.
