An Apple a Day Kept Away in Germany?

An Apple a day kept away in Germany?

An injunction has been issued against Apple in a high-level German court, finding in favor of Motorola in a patent infringement case. Though technically Apple is temporarily forbidden from selling/distributing the iPad and iPhone in the country, the company may have an easy out regardless: Only U.S.-based Apple Inc. – and not Ireland-based subsidiary Apple Operations International, which handles sales and distribution within the European Union – was named in the ruling.

Apple Inc. seems confident enough that German costumers will continue to get their iPad 2 and iPhones, with the company’s official statement promising that the ruling “does not affect our ability to do business or sell products in Germany at this time.”
