Amazon Announces Apps for Kindle Fire Tablet

With less than a week remaining before the much-anticipated public release of the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet, company officials have announced details on purchasable apps.

The Amazon Appstore will have available some 18 million apps, videos and the like available for the Kindle Fire on its November 15 release date. Officials are touting popular items including apps and games from the likes of Facebook, Twitter, Netflix, Pandora, Zynga, The Weather Channel, EA Sports, Rovio, Gameloft, Rhapsody and PopCap.

Additional Kindle Fire apps include Airport Mania, AllRecipes, Battleheart, Bloomberg, The Cat in the Hat, comiXology comics, Cut the Rope, Doodle Fit, Doodle Jump, Fruit Ninja, IMDb, Jamie’s 20-Minute Meals, Jenga, LinkedIn, Monkey Preschool Lunchbox, Pulse, Quickoffice Pro and Zillow.

For storage for all Kindle Fire users will be provided in the Amazon cloud via Whispersync. Yesterday, Amazon announced it expects to sell 5 million of the devices before the end of the calendar year.
