In following precedent set by Amazon in its new devices, Kobo will soon release a version of its Touch eReader at a low price of $99.99, representing a $30 markdown from its current product. The only difference between this variant and Kobo’s extant line of eBook readers: Like lower-priced models of the forthcoming Amazon Kindle Touch , the new Kobo Touch eReader will show advertisements when in sleep mode.
No concrete date has been announced for the launch of the Kobo Touch eReader with ads, nor is the device currently available on backorder; however, it is expected to be released in late November/early December.
