Tablet Insight: Just for Women

Tablet Insight: Just for Women review

Let’s face it: a lot of guys in the tech world think they know what women want as far as technology goes. This is a hard thing to do considering that a lot of us can’t even figure out what a woman might want in other areas of life. But there are some tablet case designers out there who have crafted some cases that will certainly catch the eye of a modern woman. Let’s take a look and see if they stack up to really being made “just for women ”.

Business Professional

“The Clutch” by Happy Owl Studio for the Apple iPad 2 in red is a great in-between case if you want a purse-like tablet case (but with better ways to organize your things than some cavernous purses). Slick red and nice straps, it is certainly one of the best cases you can find if you are an on the go business exec or cruising kids to soccer practice (and even better if you’re one of the superwomen who do both!).

Another great case in the business-purse all-in-one style is Mapi Case’s Crocodile Grain Leather Case in red is certainly an eye-catcher. This one is fitting for your Apple iPad or iPad 2 and has cool straps like Happy Owl Studio case above. Mapi Case is a bit more expensive (~$150) but definitely a good deal.

G.I. Jane

If you are woman in a man’s world of extreme sports and want to assert a little lady-like touch, then look toward the “Drop Tech” Series in Pink from Gumdrop Cases. It’s a nice case that adds a bit of, um, let’s call it ‘feminine touch’. Otherwise, the options for cases in the extreme rugged tablet cases genre are a bit overly masculine. But hey, that might be good for you too.

Cute Factor

Another popular design that brings in the super-cute factor is of course the Hello Kitty trend. Here at Tablet2cases we have a whole bunch of Hello Kitty material for Apple iPads and Kindle Tablets. At first it took me a bit to get into the Hello Kitty cases but after reviewing so many you really see why they are so popular: fun and color. Most cases out there are actually kind of bland when you put them up next to a pink-shaded case with a cute kitty staring back at you.

Fashionista

If the Hello Kitty theme isn’t exactly what you’re looking for but don’t need something so business like, then Hungarian designers The Beta Version’s limited edition “Pixelfolk” is perfect. Handmade , great material, and one-of-a-kind. A perfect boutique gift that is only available here.

If you like a fashion design feel for a case, then there don’t worry. All the high-end fashion shops—from Louis Vuitton to Burberry—have their own tablet case model. These cases come with the designer logo and usually have a pretty slick overall make and eye-bulging price tag to match.

In the end, whether the case is for designed for a guy or a gal, kid or adult, it comes down to your personal preference. Take a good a moment to think about if you could see yourself with a particular case everyday, or if this suits your new pair of shoes or maybe how much you want to stand out in the crowd.

Tablet Insight is a weekly column by Thomas Andersen that focuses on the innovative tablet uses and considers what is the most compatible and necessary tablet case.
