Samsung has released the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2019 and the Galaxy Tab S5e

It's been a few months since Samsung announced their two new tablets; Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019) and Galaxy Tab S5e. Both of these pack amazing features. In case you haven't seen these, here's a small overview.

Galaxy Tab S5e

The name might undermine the actual potential of this tablet, but it's specs are not on the downside with a 10.5-inch screen (2560x1600 resolution) with slim bezels which seems to be something all manufacturers are looking into, like the iPad 3rd Gen and iPad Mini 5th Gen.

The Tab S5e has a Snapdragon 670 processor and depending on the variant it can come with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of expandable storage. These are the two exact model numbers for this tablet

  • SM-T720 (Wi-Fi)
  • SM-T725 (LTE)

One of the nicest features of this device is the fact that it's Samsung's lightest and slimmest tablet till date with the only concern of users being that the audio jack had to go, being replaced by the USB Type-C port. In the same audio department, this device features a set of AKG speakers, four to be more specific,  two on each side.

Another great factor that needs to be taken into consideration is the battery life; a lot of users try to go through a day of usage without having to charge the device, and with a 7050mAh battery, this device is no slouch, lasting for approximately 14.5 hours according to Samsung.

The dimensions of the Tab S5e makes it perfect for almost any usage, but more especially, for a productivity setup, where you use your tablet as your daily driver. The processing power of these units is a great complement to push that productivity to the limit.

Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2019

The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2019 (SM-T510 and SM-T515) is an update for the 2016 version. The design of the tablet has changed drastically, Samsung has taken out the buttons and has changed the design to a mostly metal body instead of plastic. This makes the device feel higher-end.

The screen has a 16:10 aspect ratio with a 1920x1200 resolution. This doesn't make it the best competitor in the market, however, we can agree that this is more than enough resolution to see texts and pictures crystal clear.

The Tab A 10.1 has an octa-core processor with two 1.8Ghz and six 1.6Ghz cores and comes with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM based on the model. When it comes to storage, you can acquire this device with 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of it.

For a 2019 device, the model with 2GB of RAM is a bit disappointing. After opening a few apps or games, the operating system will start managing the memory by closing unused applications. For business users, this amount of RAM might be a bit too low.

This model does come with a headphone jack which most users will appreciate in comparison to the Tab S5e, but it does lack the stereo sound separation as it only has two speakers located at the bottom. Unfortunately, not only Samsung but also other manufacturers with tablets at the same price point have them with 4 speakers such as the Lenovo Tab P10 and Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite 10.
