HTC Flies Into Premium Tablet Market With Jetstream

HTC hopes to make a dent in the premium tablet market with the release of its Jetstream with suggested retail price of $850. Nice-looking enough with an aluminum body, the HTC Jetstream is a bit on the heavy side at 0.71 kilograms (1.6 pounds).

Also included are 1.3- and 8-megapixel cameras, SIM port and micro SD card slots. The Jetstream is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon MSM8260 microprocessor and 1 GB of RAM. Connectivity is supported by triband HSPA+/HSPA/UMTS, quadband EDGE/GPRS, WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0.

In the U.S., HTC is teaming with AT&T to sell the tablet through the telecommunication giant’s outlets and as such, AT&T-backed apps like Code Scanner, Family Map, Navigator, Wi-Fi Hot Spots, and my AT&T are preinstalled.

All in all, the HTC Jetstream seems to be an impressive package. Now let’s see if anyone in the crowded market notices.
