Cnet is reporting that Apple has begun production of a premium iPad 2 , creating the market for premium tablets. The upgraded model would probably appeal to the publishing vertical and other professional market segments.

Exec Digital had a good article published yesterday with reviews and videos of top tablet PCs including Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 , Motorola Xoom , Blackberry Playbook , HTC Flyer and of course the iPad 2 .

The Australian ran an interesting article where it quotes PriceWaterhouseCoopers analysts predicting that by 2015 one in four Australian households will have a tablet.

While most tablets downsized laptops, both the iPad and the Blackberry PlayBook have evolved from smartphones. Gulfnews did a review of the PlayBook and tried to see how it fares up with the iPad. Apparently it didn't do too bad, enough for the writer to conclude that if you own a Blackberry then you best get the Playbook instead of an iPad.

International Business Times reports that the most expensive iPad 2 case has recently been created by Stuart Hughes and it costs a staggering $8 million. Quite a far cry from the original $800 price. Currently out of stock on this website
