iBallz Lid Apple iPad 1/2/3/4 Rugged Sleeve review

If you’re already sold on (or even considering) the iBallz Original accessory for any model of iPad, then this companion case is worthy of consideration as well. The Lid folding tablet sleeve gives its mate some added functionality, plus valuable screen protection to the iPad.

As previously reviewed Tablet2Cases, the iBallz Original is an incredibly simple accessory that provides great rugged-style drop protection for any iPad or some other tablets. This one-piece product is composed of elastic cord and four plastic balls. The strap fits around the tablet’s perimeter, and the four corners fit into the balls for quality protection against extreme drops. The Lid sleeve is a companion case that adds all the functionality and screen protection which the primary iBallz Original lacks. Combined, the two make a more substantial and complete rugged-style case. The Lid is a neoprene folding sleeve with cut-out corners into which the iBallz fit. In addition to keeping things lightweight, the water- and scratch-resistant neoprene feels great – though perhaps finishing second to the fantastic plush interior. The exterior features a business/identification card holder and a mesh pocket with satisfyingly strong zipper closure. By unlocking the Velcro fastener, the flaps can be folded to form a cozy hand strap glove or a useful tablet stand for viewing modes. For a splash of flair, a small logo element is embedded on the front flap: Three concentric circles that resemble an eye. Which is quite a nice little touch. All in all, the iBallz Original plus the Lid equals one quality tablet case. One bit of bad news: this companion case only works with the Apple iPad models.
