The folks at Cooper Cases are apparently quite proud of this tablet folio case: After all, it’s described as both “Infinite” and “Universal” in its lofty name. And in a few aspects, Cooper’s pride may be justified. Unfortunately, too many generic features (including the look) detract from the overall product.
BOHOBO Universal iPad Envelope Case in Gray
Slide either an iPad or iPad 2 into the soft felt interior-lining of this tablet envelope case, fasten its cover by winding the string, and your device will be secure inside and ready to enjoy basic protection as you enjoy the ability to carry it comfortably in your hand, or conveniently stored in a large tablet bag.
- Does not add any bulk or weight
- Scratch/water-resistant material
- Nice soft interior-lining for screen protection
- Cover-flap corners curl-up and warp
- Big ‘iPad’ engraving ruins the aesthetic
- String mechanism is a hassle to wind/unwind
Ready to satisfy some of the most popular case-style demands, the BOHOBO brand delivers a range of solidly constructed, cost-effective choices, including this particular tablet sleeve. Made of a polyurethane material that has a grained-leather effect, its exterior can be unharmed by a few drops of rain or some accidental liquid spills, but is mainly formed to shield your device against scratches. Better yet, thanks to its lightweight and trim design, this accessory can be stowed inside an alternative carrying solution for increased device protection.
- Compatible with all generation Apple iPads
- Polyurethane design with natural grain leather look and soft feel
- String fastener for secure closure
- Provides generous all-around protection against scratches and abrasions
The most distracting thing here is that the cover-flap corners warp and curl-up once the case is sealed by the string. The leather-grain textured surface gives off a nice genuine look and feel. Though that giant "iPad" engraved on the exterior kinda diminishes this genuine effect. The sleeve is ultra slim and feels just as lightweight as a paper envelope.
No extras here. The string cover-fastener slows down the ability to quickly access the tablet, but still an effective mechanism for guaranteeing secure closure.
The PU leather and soft microfiber-like lining offer the iPad generous all-around protection against scratches and abrasions. The exterior is also a good shield against moisture and splash spills.
Though the polyurethane design feels a bit rubbery, it gives off a nice appearance of genuine leather. The sleeve is well stitched and sealed in all places to suggest that it will stick around for the lifetime of the tablet and well beyond for future generation iPads to fit.
No matter how basic its material and overall purpose, you can't knock the amazing low cost of only $9.95.
The BOHOBO envelope sleeve is a best case scenario for the iPad user who seeks generous all-around tablet protection for a very generous low asking price.
