Suzanne Park searched high and low for a travel bag to suit her needs, and when she finally found one, it fell apart after just 6 short months. Feeling frustrated, she established Plaid Doctrine in order to begin creating more sustainable, good-looking carrying solutions for active modern lifestyles. This ‘green company’ produces Plaid Doctrine cases and bags made from domestically sourced recycled plastic bottles, and all are handcrafted in the USA.

The company currently offers just one tablet sleeve that can accommodate either the iPad, iPad 2 or iPad 3 (with or without a smart cover). One look at the aesthetic and you would think that Burberry produced it. This case for ladies may be designed for a woman’s delicate touch, but it is still high on protection with a water and stain-resistant exterior fabric, as well as ultra-light foam padding and nylon lining. It also features two large front pockets underneath the flap for accessory storage.

Plaid Doctrine has created a sharp-looking ‘green’ accessory that doesn’t take a lot of green (only $59) to get your hands on. Just as durable as it is stylish, functional and protective, those consumers who buy Plaid Doctrine tablet cases can now avoid suffering the same fate of the company’s founder.
