For those users looking to carry the device in hand, there are quite a few options with hand strap cases. Key features in tablet cases with straps include improved mobility in holding the tablet, better angles in displaying the tablet screen one-handed, and prevention of accidental slippage. For these reasons, hand straps are generally becoming more integral to the tablet case and more advanced for frequent tablet users.

Straps on tablet cases are typically adjustable and come in a slight range of sizes from very thin to palm-width. Many case straps are built directly onto the carrier, typically at the top, though in some models designed specifically for the Apple iPad, these appear the bottom. Either option should allow portage by carrying the tablet in one’s hand or on the wrist.

The tablet case strap may be detachable or permanent, and in most detachable models some kind of pocket is provided in the case to stow the strap away. Hand strap tablet cases may include Velcro or snaps for easy removal and replacement. In a few tablet cases with strap, the strap may serve as a base for the device to prop it up.
