Carbon Fiber Cases

By / August 3, 2011

Carbon fiber material is used in many products requiring tensile strength and resistance to extremes in temperature. For tablet cases, carbon fiber (also known as “carbon graphite” or “graphite fiber”) provides a good amount of protection while also maintaining a very low weight. While the look of carbon fiber tablet cases may be indistinguishable from those of other materials, users may be assured of strong, durable material not found in some organic or plastic alternatives.

The most popular format of carbon fiber tablet case is book case and portfolio case style and these are again mostly indistinguishable from those made of leather or faux leather. Portfolio tablet cases made of graphite may be closed with Velcro or other fasteners, or may simply snap shut. A few carbon-fiber sleeves for the tablet also exist and these also follow the typical dimensions and standards of such cases. Both versions may include pockets for business cards and such.

In terms of look, the great majority of carbon fiber tablet cases are colored in basic black or gray, due to the natural limitations of the material.
