In seeking to combine the mediums of tablet and Netbook PC, Asus developed the Eee Pad Transformer – aka TF101 – a tablet which includes a detachable keyboard and trackpad dock to allow its morphing into a full-on laptop computer.
In terms of specs, the Asus Eee Pad Transformer includes the Android 3.0 OS, a Tegra 250 microprocessor, up to 32 GB in storage capacity and battery power lasting over nine hours – all impressive enough on their own without the hardware upgrade provided in the kit. The dock is what puts the Transformer ahead of the pack, however.
The keyboard dock includes another six-plus hours of battery time and in the good news/bad news category, contains two USB ports and a port for SD cards. The problem is that these ports do not exist within the Asus Eee Pad tablet itself. And perhaps the best bit about docking the Eee Pad Transformer is its welcome firmness – once in place, the tablet/Transformer unit becomes a truly single, solid unit.
On the minus side of the Asus Eee Pad Transformer is its size. This tablet is both a bit heavier and wider than the standard, as the 10” screen is bordered by a thick rim, though its favorable price and amazing hardware should well outweigh any slight inconvenience in this area.
Tablet2Cases recommends to buy it now for $404.56. This offer comes with Free Shipping.
