Ah, a tablet with the artist – and especially the enthusiastic youth – in mind! Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1 sets itself apart from the tablet crowd thanks to its main touted function - the stylus. Its meant to be used specifically as a device to draw or write on.

The 10.1 is a bit of an evolution from the Samsung Galaxy Note 5” device, and fans of Samsung will be happy to note that the company’s traditional fantastic high-resolution screen technology is in place in this tablet. In terms of specs, the Galaxy Note 10.1 stacks up well with connectivity to WiFi or HSPA+; a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor; up to 64 MB of memory; and 3 MP and 2 MP cameras.

But of course what the user will likely notice first among the specs is the stylu.: Seemingly quite the old-fashioned bit of technology in a 2012 release, the stylus opens up countless possibilities for drawing and writing use. Graphics-friendly apps such as Hello Crayon, Omni Sketch and Zen Brush are pre-installed, while stylus-adapted Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Ideas apps are also included. Also worth a look is the S Note app, which allows the user to easily make notes while surfing, browsing, etc. Luckily, that 1.4 GHz CPU keeps things running extremely smoothly and seamlessly.

Though the Galaxy Note 10.1 performs well in all areas – it’s another tablet up to Samsung’s consistently high standards – the advantages given the artist will make this a must-have for the graphically inclined.

Tablet2Cases recommends to buy it now for $499.
