PC specialists Dell have apparently backed out of the tablet market for the time being, with company representatives announcing the discontinuation of its Streak 7 Android tablet. Priced as a budget tablet at $200 with a tied-in T-Mobile contract, the Streak 7 failed to catch the imagination of users while Dell did little research into advancing the device for future releases.
The company’s official statement read in part: “Streak 7 delivered a unique experience for customers who wanted a larger screen-size yet the freedom of staying connected to their personal and professional content while on the go. It continues to be available in many markets…” Said markets include Australia and China; in the latter, a 10” version known as the Dell Streak 10 Pro is sold.
For carrying and toting the Dell Streak 7 Android, any 7” tablet case will do the job.
