Speck iGuy Universal iPad Kids Play Case review

Who better to critique a kids tablet case than, well, kids? In consulting with Suzie (6½ years old) and Silvia (just turned five), this father found the Speck Products iGuy iPad play case to be quite a handy and successful item for young whiz kids – if only you can get the littler ones to, you know, stop playing with the iGuy itself.
Editor's Rating
The Speck iGuy iPad Mini case is immediately attractive to kids with its eye-catching and "tasty" colors (available in chili pepper red, lime green, mango or purple grape). Presenting the iGuy with tablet embedded to my daughters, Silvia knew exactly what to do and began walking it around. Forget that the humanoid design of the iGuy provides big sturdy rubber legs to stand the tablet up solidly – Silvia was having too much fun. She then put the iGuy through the second test, grabbing one of the arms as a handle and walking around with the tablet. Running around and swinging around the lightweight case caused absolutely no shifting of the iPad as it held firmly inside the frame. But soon, Suzie had her demands. After all, there was Scooby Doo to watch! The iGuy stands upright to make video viewing easy – and possible for both to watch. Unfortunately, these young ones were a bit, let’s say enthusiastic, pressing the touchscreen just a bit too hard, making the iGuy fall backward. But no harm done, thanks to the EVA foam design that provides rugged and tough protection. Days later, the girls still love it. Suzie has named the iGuy “Ferko” (don’t ask), while Silvia simply fondly calls it “Crazy Little Man.” Someday, I may even get to use the iPad again...
