After a few minutes with the Acer Iconia A3-A10 tablet, users will be pleasantly surprised by the IntelliSpin feature which is truly great to have on a tablet of any size. When the tablet is turned in any direction Intellispin rotates the screen to match the tablet’s orientation while being held and even while lying flat on a surface.

While this is a welcome feature, some of the other capabilities Acer has included with this model are not so impressive, but still valuable for a budget model. A standard screen resolution at 1280x800 is good enough for most people, and unless you’re planning on intense graphic design work or hard-core gaming, there is no need for more pixels than this on a 10.1 inch screen. Sure, it has less resolution than other tablets but this also saves on battery life and allows you to work or play for longer, up to 11 hours.

The front camera is a big disappointment and only offers 0.3 Megapixels at a very low 640x480 resolution for a smaller picture size. If you’re planning to make video calls over Skype this isn’t going to offer great quality. The Acer Iconia A3 comes with a standard 1GB of memory which is a bit low by this year’s standards, and operates on a 1.2GHz quad core. That’s reasonable computing power and speed for the price of $279.
