Carrying around naked devices won’t set you apart from the rest. Customization is what sets Uncommon apart from the competition. The Chicago USA-based company was launched in 2009 by a group of entrepreneurs who believe the gadgets we use everyday should be iconic expressions of art and individually. They source engineers, artists and designers to create a full range of customizable Uncommon cases for popular Apple electronics.

Uncommon currently offers the "Deflector" polycarbonate back protector for the iPad2 and iPad3 ($50-$60). The designs are smart cover compatible and maintain complete tablet function. Consumers can design Uncommon iPad cases in two ways: choose a piece of pre-made artwork from the Uncommon galleries, or upload your own personal design. The Uncommon online configuration lets you position, scale, and rotate the image how you see fit. Once selected, text can be added to the case at no extra charge. The brand also offers 11" zipper sleeves ($40 each) with pre-made pattern designs.

Uncommon is the first manufacturer to offer mass customization using 3D TATT (Thermo-Active Transdermal Technology) printing on plastic. This process prints the ink deep into the case surface, like a tattoo, to ensure long-lasting vibrant designs. Apple users who seek a back protector design less common than the rest should certainly make their way to this brand to buy Uncommon tablet cases.
