The Archos 70 Titanium is a classic mixed bag in terms of quality: The useful apps running on a nicely quick processor – particularly at its budget suggested retail price – are definite plusses, though the screen resolution of a surprisingly low 1024 x 600 pixels is definitely not notable in a market increasingly beset with high-definition tablets.

After making a big leap in quality from their initial offerings, the Archos 70 Titanium is a solid-enough entry, if a bit behind the times at present. The 1.6 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor still holds its own against the competition and for typical use; while internal memory starts at a low 8 GB, this is expandable up to 32 GB more thanks to the micro SD card slot. Nice to note the incredibly low weight as well.

The Archos 70 Titanium does not include any of the more frequently seen Google apps, but does comes equipped with interesting Android offerings including those for video calling, music streaming, social networking, PDF reading and game playing.

While no one will be mistaking the Archos Titanium for any of the top five brand names in tablets, this device is certainly portable and interesting enough to keep users with just a few dollars to spare happy.
