Apple Sues Samsung Over Case Designs
Apple has claimed that case designs for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Samsung phones infringe on the copyright of Apple patents and registered designs. Apple has issued a notice of infringement and plans to file a statement of claim against Samsung, one of Apple’s lawyers stated in court in Australia.
The statement is part of a larger legal campaign of mostly petty lawsuits that Apple has waged against Samsung in Australia to keep the Galaxy Tab out of the market down under.
No case in particular is being discussed, but it is most likely the Samsung-approved Smart Case by the company Anymode, which resembles Apple’s Smart Cover. Samsung now denies having anything to do with the Smart Case design.
