DockPlus was founded in October 2012 with the sole purpose of creating a unique smartphone and tablet charging dock – Dock+. Behind the USA-based company are David Wurtz, a cofounder of Google Drive, and Michael Weinstein, inventor and Chief Engineer at ZAP. The duo managed to raise enough funds through Kickstarter in order to take their one-of-a-kind accessory to mass production, and plan to start shipping DockPlus cases in May, 2013.

The debut Dock+ case is designed for compatible use with the New iPad or iPad Mini. Crafted from a single piece of solid steel, the Dock+ iPad case syncs the tablet with a PC and simultaneously charges it while providing a comfy upright viewing angle support. The asking retail price has not been set yet, but those who pledged $49 or more will be receiving the Dock+ as their reward.

Currently, it is not possible to buy DockPlus tablet cases directly, but come May this year, the beautiful tablet charging dock will become available to the masses. Those who value style and functionality will surely find the Dock+ to be a great addition to their table or office desktop.
