Jonathan Saunders is a Scottish print designer and founder of an emerging fashion brand. Introducing his first collection in NYC in 2008, Jonathan Saunders is known for using traditional silk-screening techniques. More recently, Jonathan Saunders focuses on clean, architectural forms to create an aesthetic that compliments the hip, modern urbanites.
This designer’s autumn/winter 2011 collection included the debut of the Jonathan Saunders iPad case, which was created in collaboration with Smythson. This tablet portfolio case ($422) features two shades of color-blocked genuine goatskin leather with a black velvet inlay, brushed gold zipper, and slim exterior/interior pockets that are lined with Saunders’ signature William Morris-inspired flora and fauna printed silk.
Both Jonathan Saunders and Smythson share a love for color, and a commitment toward detailed design and fine quality. These two brands have joined forces to create a complimentary modern aesthetic for the iPad2, a luxurious design that should inspire many of its well-to-do owners to buy Jonathan Saunders tablet cases.
