Portfolio cases offer users the familiar design of the folio case but with extra pockets and storage space for small accessories, business cards and the like. Many models billed as portfolio cases resemble an old-fashioned day planner which opens like a book and has a button-down strap to close it back to front. Many portfolio cases are perfectly suited for the business environment.
In portfolio tablet cases, pockets typically line the inside and are separated from the touchscreen by a divider that adds a little extra protection for the front of the device. On the inside front cover may be spaces to hold cards and smaller items.
The best portfolio tablet cases include a ringlet to hold an ink pen or stylus, and some even provide an accordion-like file holder as well. Materials used in portfolio tablet cases are somewhat limited; these are usually made with leather or faux-leather, though a few models crafted from textile materials are available.
