The Omni 10 tablet got a bit of an under-the-radar release without the fanfare one would think a device emblazoned with the HP name deserved – but those who purchased this outstanding Windows 8.1-based tablet (no, really) have got to be pleased with its performance.

The look of the Omni 10 is fairly pedestrian and is at first sight fairly well indistinguishable from your standard black-bezel tablet, but the touchscreen gets some attention immediately thereafter. The generous 10” screen carries a 1,920 x 1,200-pixel resolution. All the better for gaming and video viewing is the nicely powerful 1.46 GHz Intel Atom Z3770 quad-core processor. Internal memory starts (starts, mind you) at 32 GB in Omni 10, and a 64 GB version is also available.

Yet another highlight comes in the Omni 10 tablet’s rear camera: At time this of this writing, 8 MP is surely the highest-density camera we’ve seen at Tablet2Cases. In terms of carrying, the would-be owner will want to note the above-average 0.4” thickness and the average 1.4-pound weight. The back provides a nice, smooth feel. Suitably impressed, we’re only wondering now when word of mouth will give the HP Omni 10 tablet a little more recognition among device fans.
