The flip case is similar to the folio case in look and design, except the fold on tablet flip cases is vertical, rather than horizontal. Typically made with a leather or faux-leather exterior, these cases offer a practical yet stylish choice for table users who often carry their tablets within another bag.
For additional security during portage, most flip tablet cases include padding in the interior and some sort of clasps to more firmly hold the device in place. Many manufacturers of this case style also provide a stand for the tablet to stand upright for viewing. A few incorporate a stand that sets between the covers, while other designs feature notches fashioned in the inside of the front cover, allowing the back cover to prop up the tablet.
A slight disadvantage in buying flip tablet cases is the general lack of room for pockets and/or storage space for accessories, though some enterprising designers have managed to give more function to tablet flip case with space for business card holders in the interior of the back flap.
